 Welcome to my Underwear Affair Personal Page! As you can see, I?ve joined Alberta Cancer Foundation?s Underwear Affair® - a 10K run / 5K walk to uncover cures for cancers below the waist: prostate, colon, testicular, and ovarian cancer, among others. I?ll be just one of thousands of people gathered on the streets of Edmonton this summer in the biggest Affair this town has ever seen!

 As much as I wish it were not so, now a days you don't have to go far to find someone whose life has been touched or taken by cancer- and many of you that come to this page already know what that grief is like. Losing someone to cancer, watching them being taken by the disease in an unspeakable sorrow.

This past October, a dear friend of mine lost her mom to cancer. A grief I cannot even begin to imagine. Too many know the wild anguish that the loss of a loved one encompasses; it is a great and terrible power that can overtake you, sweep you up and drown you. But it is through Shelley's experience I have been shown a different power of grief, one of transformation. I have witnessed the metamorphosis of one woman's daughter into a powerful young woman. And as I watch this grief burn all around her, the heart that is being revealed is incredible.

I am doing this to support women like Shelley and her mother. As a tribute to every daughter who has lost her mother in this fight against cancer and as a tribute to every mother taken by cancer that had to leave their daughter behind. I am doing this to honor the sacred bond of love. I am doing this as a stand for life free of disease and as a stand for the day we uncover the cure!
