"Welcome!
I think the only thing to say here is why i am doing this.
In October 2005, one of the most important and influential people in my life, my grandpa Norm, was diagnosed with cancer. His strength and positive outlook on life kept a smile on his face the whole battle with the disease.
With great sadness on January 1, 2006, he lost that battle. However, his bravery and sense of humor live on. My dad, Jules, fights for the cause by picking up a bike and peddling for a cure.
now its my turn
Every step i take for this walk will be for Grandpa Norm and every penny i raise will go to finding a cure for cancer.
i miss him everyday. this one is for you.
Always, Grandpa's Sunshine"
Last year these were my words as i walked the 5km wakl for the first time.
This year i have decided to challenge myself. I have never ran anywhere in my life but for the next couple of months i will be training as much as possible in order to survive the 10km run.
This year i am not only running for my grandpa's memory, but i will also have my wonderful friend Steph's mom's name on my shirt. She is currently fighting like a champ to kick cancer's ass for the second time. This women has such strength and her and her daughter have inspired me so much to push myself to do this run.
Cancer is a word that affects everyone in some way. But these two people give me such hope and such inspiration. HERE'S TO YOU GUYS!
