Welcome to Maharem!

We are running and walking in honour of Tony Mah, an amazing man who lost his battle with rectal cancer last fall. It seems fitting that we are taking place in the "Underwear Affair," after being diagnosed in June 2011, Tony encouraged as many friends and family to be tested for colo-rectal cancer. He was considered to be "too young" to be tested for the disease - he was under 50 - and he wanted to help his family and friends avoid the same diagnosis.

The team named "Maharem" comes from Tony's wonderful sense of humour! He was always joking about needing a "harem" and one of the most honoured positions would have been "Truck Washer" as opposed to "Dancing Girl!" And he would have loved to see a group of people run around in underwear!

The Underwear Affair is about giving these devastating cancers some exposure and shedding some light on their cures. So please help us in our efforts to raise money for care and research for cancers "down there"! What can you do about it? Don?t be shy - you can either donate to one of us, or you can join us! We?d love to have you as a team member - the more the merrier!
